World Missions Unlimited (sm)

World Missions Unlimited is a new process that provides individuals of all ages the opportunity to connect to missions and ministry as they use their spiritual gifts and God-given passions. It ignites a renewal of Great Commission responsiveness as people discover how they are truly Unlimited in what God can do through them to impact the Kingdom.

The journey of discovery for believers occurs personally and corporately. Life skills and passions combined with spiritual giftedness become the tools to re-energize and revitalize. In this transformational process, churches move from program-driven organizational structures to purpose-driven connections. New ministries are birthed and lives are changed.

Throughout Virginia and now Capetown, South Africa, believers are discovering their passions and channeling their energies for the Kingdom.

World Missions Unlimited(SM) offers:

• A support system for being on mission with God in the workplace and home
• Resources that encourage spiritual growth, Bible study and prayer
• Opportunities and encouragement to minister and witness
• Participation in reaching the world for Christ

World Missions Unlimited(SM) Findings

Heritage Matters

• Persons are seeking a heritage that blesses the future, not one that defines the future.

The World is Chaordic

• Christ-Followers want help in balancing their lives, finding peace and discovering meaning.

Spiritual Hunger Abounds

• People are responding/feeling Called. Me? How can I find my place?

The Search is On

• The search is purpose-driven - God's purpose, My purpose, Our purpose together.

Linking Is In & Other Matters

• Linking is not about meeting together but about connecting hearts. People want to make a difference in the world and most enjoy doing it together.

There Is No Shortage of Leadership

• Leaders must be approached, tapping passions and challenging the engagement of spiritual gifts and skills.

Conclusion

WMU can be

IF it’s released to BE.

Wendy Ryan – World Missions Unlimited International Consultant
Current estimates show that about 6.3 million of South Africa’s 47 million citizens have the HIV virus. Every day 1,700 people acquire HIV and 600 die of AIDS-related illness. Through Evangeline Ministries, Wendy Ryan works in partnership with WMU of Virginia through its World Missions Unlimited(SM) initiative to show Christ’s love to women and children in South Africa that are affected by HIV/AIDS. In conjunction with Living Hope Community Centre in Cape Town, a Christian HIV/AIDS ministry of Fish Hoek Baptist Church, Wendy oversees the Capricorn Project, a feeding and educational program run entirely by women. She also manages the highly successful sewing project that provides skills and a means of income for impoverished women and men facing HIV/AIDS and has started a computer class that will introduce the basics of working on a computer and using word processing and spreadsheets.

Greetings to all of you dear friends who make this ministry possible! “I am so thankful to God that
Virginia Woman’s Missionary Union is a partner with Evangeline Ministries through which I can serve as a
volunteer missionary in Cape Town South Africa.” I have such exciting news to share with you.Click here!
are with you.

Wendy Ryan is serving in South Africa through WMUV as an International World Missions Unlimited(sm) Consultant. Highlights of Wendy's story:

• When faced with human need and suffering, the question we must ask is, "what is our response as Christians.? How can we care and love as Jesus did?

• I remembered the chaplain at Living Hope Community Ministries in Cape Town, South Africa who said the same thing to me. "I do not ask them how they got AIDS," she said, " I just give them hope."

• So many factors contribute to the spread of this disease which is rampant throughout the African continent. Poverty, lack of education, culture and lifestyle, and shame, intertwine to make it a huge challenge not only for the government, but now
for the Christian churches in South Africa.

• Current estimates show about 6.3 million of South Africa's 47 million citizens are infected with the HIV virus, up from an estimated 5.3 million in 2003.

• This is not a situation in which there will be a quick and easy result, and so I am joining a growing multitude of Christian believers who are putting their energies to this pandemic. I retired as Communications Director for the Baptist World Alliance and moved to Cape Town, South Africa, to work with the ministry there started by the Fish Hoek Baptist Church, with pastor John Thomas. I am especially committed to serve women who battle this disease. In partnership with the Woman's Missionary Union of Virginia, through their World Missions Unlimited(sm), we will join others to show Christ's care to women with HIV/AIDS.
